What CEWEP does

Services to members

CEWEP keeps members up to date on relevant EU legislative and policy news, studies, and other developments affecting the sector. Members receive regular e-bulletins as well as detailed EU Reports, published 3–4 times a year, covering key legislative developments and CEWEP’s activities.

Members have the opportunity to actively contribute to and influence CEWEP’s positions and statements, helping shape the messages that CEWEP brings to the European decisionmakers.

Through CEWEP’s Working Groups, members exchange knowledge, expertise, and practical experience on key issues. The Working Groups also develop recommendations for consideration by the CEWEP Presidency and General Assembly.

We have the following Working Groups:

  • Energy and Climate
  • Residues
  • Communication
  • Emission Control

As well as ad-hoc Working Groups based on specific needs.

How to become a CEWEP member

Members of CEWEP are either associations or individual Waste-to-Energy Plants.

The plants represented by CEWEP are operated both by municipalities and private companies.

Membership of CEWEP is conditional to achieving environmental standards set out in the Waste Incineration BREF and its BAT Conclusions.
