CEWEP Waste-to-Energy Congress 2025 Practical information
There are several ways to travel from the airport to Gdańsk city centre. You can choose between a fast train (PKM), a bus, or a taxi.
Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway (PKM – Pomorska Kolej Metropolitalna)
When you leave the airport, you will see stairs leading to the train station straight ahead. The station’s name is “Gdańsk Port Lotniczy”, and your destination is “Gdańsk Wrzeszcz”. Trains depart every 15–20 minutes.
From “Gdańsk Wrzeszcz”, you need to transfer to the SKM (Fast Metropolitan Railway – Szybka Kolej Miejska) in the direction of “Gdańsk Główny”.
Note: Changing from PKM to SKM requires switching platforms and purchasing a new ticket.
Bus
Bus line 210 goes directly to the city centre (direction: Gdańsk Główny). The bus stop is located just outside the arrivals hall, with clear signage leading to it. Buses run every 30 minutes.
Note: Bus and tram drivers do not sell tickets, so be sure to buy yours in advance.
Taxi/Uber/Bolt
Taking a taxi, Uber, or Bolt is likely the fastest and most convenient option to reach the city centre.
Public Transport: Public transport in Gdańsk enables efficient and affordable mobility across the city.
Please note: Bus and tram drivers do not sell tickets, so be sure to buy yours in advance.
There are several ways to purchase tickets for trams and buses in Gdańsk:
City bike Mevo: download the app, charge your account with a few PLN and enjoy ride through the city centre. The stations of the bike are on almost every corner. The bikes are red with the “Mevo” sign.
Taxi: All the common applications are operating in Gdańsk: Bolt, Uber, ITaxi…

European Solidarity centre is where the main Congress Day and the Technical Seminar takes place.
“It is a museum commemorating the Solidarność revolution and the collapse of communism in Europe, but also an educational centre, a research and study centre, an archive, a library and a mediatheque. And finally, a public space, a meeting place for citizens who feel responsible for the development of democracy: a zone for practising solidarity and citizenship.”

Getting to the Congress venue from Radisson Hotel
The distance to the European Solidarity Centre is about 20 min by public transport, 12-15 min by taxi and up to 10 minutes by city bike – Mevo. Walk will take you approximately 25-30 min.
If you are using public transport, take a nice stroll in on the banks of Motlava River heading to Targ Rybny (Fish Market). There you will find the bus stop nr 100. It operates every 30 min. The schedule to be find here. Your direction “Dworzec Główny PKP” (Gdańsk Main train station). Your last stop is “Plac Solidarności” (Solidarity Square).
You could also take a tram nr 8 from Podwalne Przedmiejskie street. The tram stop is called Chmielna 01 and your direction is Jelitkowo. Your last stop is “Plac Solidarności” (Solidarity Square).

Arche Dwór Uphagena hotel (website), Prof. Kieturakisa 1, 80-742 Gdańsk, Poland
This hotel is unique! There used to be a hospital here, even until early 2000’s. Also, the district, called the Lower City is beautiful – partially revitalized, partially like in the old days. Additionally, surrounded by beautiful green areas and Motlava River.

The distance between European Solidarity Centre and Dwór Uphagena Arche is about 25 min by public transport, 12-15 min by taxi and up to 15 minutes by city bike – Mevo. Walk will take you approximately 40 min.
If you are using public transport, you could take a tram no. 8 from Podwalne Przedmiejskie street. The tram stop is called Akademia Muzyczna 01 (Academy of Music) and your direction is Jelitkowo. Your last stop is “Plac Solidarności” (Solidarity Square). There is also a direct bus nr 111 from Wróbla street. The stop is called Wróbla 02, the direction Plac Solidarności (Solidarity Square) and last stop is also Solidarity Square. The bus operates every 30 min.

Getting to the Congress venue from Scandic hotel
The easiest way is to take a short walk. The distance is close, and it should take you up to 10 min maximum.
If you are using public transport, get to the tram nr 7,8 or 10 from the Dworzec Główny 01 tram stop in the direction for Jelitkowo/Przymorze/Nowy Port. They operate every 10 min, and the journey will take you up to 5 min.

The team from Clean Energy Harbour, a newly opened Waste-to-Energy power and heat plant in Gdańsk, is happy to welcome you to the facility. The tour will last approximately 1.5 hours and will provide comprehensive insights into the investment process, the BAT (Best Available Techniques) update (2019) implemented at the plant, exhaust gas cleaning methods, and the facility’s workflow.
Please come prepared for the visit. Flat shoes and trousers are recommended for your comfort. We will provide all necessary personal protective equipment (helmets, safety glasses, and vests).
If you have a fear of heights, please inform us in advance, as the tour includes climbing stairs on gratings up to approximately 25 meters.
